EXCELLENT ADHESION to Hard-to-Bond Woods
Our toughened, versatile liquid epoxy offers exceptional adhesion to fiberglass, ceramics, metals, plastics, and damp or difficult-to-bond woods. It is slightly more flexible than standard epoxies and polyesters, yet much stiffer than sealants. This epoxy can absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration, making it perfect for structural bonding applications.
IDEAL FOR BONDING Dissimilar Materials
This versatile liquid epoxy is ideal for bonding dissimilar materials and can be modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and additives. It can be used to wet-out fiberglass tapes and fabrics. When mixed at a 1:1 ratio, this 2-part epoxy provides 46 minutes of pot life at 72°F and an open (working) time of 60-75 minutes. It reaches an initial cure in 3 to 4 hours and a workable cure in 7-10 hours.
GREATER FLEXIBILITY than Traditional Epoxies or Polyester Resins
Our epoxy offers greater flexibility than traditional epoxies or polyester resins but is much stiffer than adhesive sealants. With a modulus of elasticity of 150,000 PSI, it bonds tenaciously to metals, plastics, glass, masonry, and fiberglass. It can also be used to wet-out and bond fiberglass tapes and fabrics.
STRUCTURAL BONDS to Absorb Stress
Make structural bonds that can handle the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. Our epoxy can be applied to damp or wet surfaces and even underwater when used with specific techniques. Perfect for repairs to aluminum, boats, canoes, or kayaks made of polyethylene or ABS.
EASILY MODIFIED
This epoxy can be easily modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers, additives, and pigments to suit your specific needs. Adding G/flex to other WEST SYSTEM epoxies can improve their toughness and flexibility. It is not intended for clear coating.
