Admit it, you love me, and you want to kiss me, Melanie is a doctor, and Jack is a police officer. They were together for years, and everyone thought they would eventually get married. However, they broke up instead, and they both claim to be over each other, but they're not fooling anyone.
Jack stops Melanie every morning and gives her a speeding ticket just to get a glimpse of her, and Melanie storms off each time she sees Jack talking to another woman at a party. Their love/hate relationship is reaching epic proportions until Melanie decides to take the next step.
Mark, a doctor Melanie works with in the ER, is the one who shows up on their first date. However, Jack happens to be moonlighting as the bartender at the restaurant they go to. To make matters worse, Jack buys the house a couple of doors down from Melanie, and lately, he seems to be everywhere she is. Is he doing it on purpose, making it difficult for her to forget him?
Lamenting over what could have been, Melanie has too much to drink at a local bar. Is it some kind of conspiracy when the bartender calls Jack to take her home? She just can't seem to get away from the guy.
When Brooke and Adam invite all their friends to spend a weekend at a luxurious cabin in the White Mountains, Melanie gets lost in the wilderness while hiking. Jack finds her, of course. They huddle together in an abandoned shack to keep warm during the night. If Melanie didn't know better, everything had to be staged just to get her and Jack together again. The universe might work in mysterious ways, but this is ridiculous.
